JOSEPHINE CO., Ore. – Members of 4-H and OSU’s Josephine County Extension Center are gathering supplies to donate stockings to soldiers overseas for Christmas and they need your help!
Over the past 12 years, the organization has sent stockings to soldiers, sending up to 400 last year.
The project coordinator says the stockings are going to Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa.
“[We need] drink mixes, hot chocolate, little snack bars, energy bars – things like that. one thing they seem to really enjoy in recent years is the hot sauce, ”said coordinator Jonie Anderson.
She says they also collect personal hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner.
The deadline to receive donations is December 6.
Donations can be dropped off at the Extension Center at 215 Ringuette Street in Grants Pass. You can contact the organizer directly for any questions at (541) 476-6613.
