Bellaire High School is accepting donations of formal wear

For many high school students, finding affordable formal wear can be a challenge.

Bellaire High School aims to help solve this problem with Formal Flip.

They have partnered with other schools in County Antrim, as well as Goodwill and Tiny Traveling Boutique in Elk Rapids.

Anyone can drop off gently used ceremonial clothing, shoes and jewelry at Bellaire High School or the Tiny Traveling Boutique on Friday, February 4.

Everyone will receive a ticket for each object deposited.

Tickets can be used to trade in or exchange for new clothes at the Formal Flip event.

“I mean, basically, we’re going to have everything and anything a kid needs to be able to step out in a ready-to-go outfit for the snow, prom, or if they haven’t even been out of school. “, Bellaire High School Counselor Ashley. said Young.

Young said the students were already very excited about swapping new formal clothes.

“Kids don’t have to be able to go to these dances and they can basically walk away with a whole new outfit,” Young said.

The formal Flip will take place at Bellaire High School on Saturday, February 5.
