BMW of North America Reports Fourth Quarter 2021 and Full Year 2021 US Sales Results | Business


WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ – (BUSINESS WIRE) – January 4, 2022–

BMW of North America today announced fourth quarter 2021 and full year 2021 sales results for the BMW and MINI brands in the United States

BMW brand

In the fourth quarter of 2021, sales of the BMW brand in the United States totaled 93,031 vehicles, down 5.8% from the 98,750 vehicles sold in the fourth quarter of 2020. For the full year 2021 , sales of the BMW brand increased by 20.8% on total sales of 336,644 compared to 278,732 vehicles sold in 2020.

Brand MINI

Sales of the MINI brand in the United States totaled 7,860 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2021, down 8.1% from the 8,549 vehicles sold in the fourth quarter of 2020. For the full year 2021, MINI brand sales increased 6.4% on total sales of 29,930 vehicles compared to 28,138 vehicles sold in 2020.

As the auto industry continues to face the challenges of the ongoing global pandemic and associated supply chain issues, BMW Group once again recorded a year of positive growth in the United States. global production network and strong collaboration with dealers. The company and its network of partner dealers have worked together to manage inventory levels and meet strong customer demand for new vehicles. In the first quarter of 2022, BMW customers will begin to receive the first deliveries of two brand new fully electric offerings: the BMW iX Sports Activity Vehicle and the BMW i4 Gran Coupé.

BMW Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles.

  • 23,180 BMW Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles were sold in the fourth quarter of 2021, down 10.2% from the same quarter last year. For the full year 2021, sales of BMW Certified Pre-Owned vehicles totaled 109,743 vehicles, an increase of 1.1% from the 108,593 vehicles sold in 2020.

MINI certified pre-owned vehicles.

  • 1,720 MINI Certified Pre-Owned vehicles were sold in the fourth quarter of 2021, a decrease of 20.9% from the same quarter a year ago. For 2021 as a whole, sales of MINI Certified Pre-Owned vehicles totaled 10,527 vehicles, an increase of 10.9% from the 9,490 vehicles sold in 2020.
