Faith in Action thanks the volunteers
Volunteers with Faith in Action for Cass County gathered on September 28 for the annual Volunteer Appreciation Event to highlight the importance of volunteers helping others in their communities.
This year’s event, held virtually, featured an inspirational speaker, door prize designs, special thanks from Faith in Action board chair Craig Wadzink, a themed goodie bag bees and recognition of the many ways volunteers have helped others over the past year. .
Mann Lake Supply from Hackensack sponsored the event and provided gifts to the volunteers.
Held on National Good Neighbor Day, Faith in Action volunteers enjoyed speaker Krisie Barron’s talk on “What’s on your To Be List” and door prizes.
Executive Director Theresa Eclov described the accomplishments of many volunteers over the past year. This summer, Faith in Action volunteer drivers crossed the 1.25 million mile mark to get their neighbors where they need to go since 2001.
Faith in Action volunteers have been very busy over the past year, providing over 6,400 hours and traveling over 80,000 miles serving 275 needy people in Cass County. Volunteers responded to an average of 240 requests per month.
Those served by Faith in Action volunteers ranged from newborn to 99 years old; and 79% of those served were aged 60 and over, although the service is provided to people of all ages and there are no income or fee guidelines. Services are provided by community volunteers as needed.
Faith in Action for Cass County is a local charity that connects community volunteers who provide transportation, visitation, respite, housekeeping and chore services, provide in-home meals, and build ramps. access. Faith in Action volunteers choose when and how they can share their time and talents.
