Med City Auto Dealership to Expand and Modernize Facility, Lot – Post Bulletin

ROCHESTER — Envisioning a future where car stocks rebound, a Med City dealership is shifting gears with plans to expand its facilities and make room for more vehicles.

Rochester Motor Cars filed land development applications with the City of Rochester this week to add to its Rochester Mazda dealership and reconfigure its location at 2955 48th St. NW along US 52 North Frontage Road.

Rochester Motor Cars, which also owns Rochester Toyota, Rochester Ford and Rochester Chevrolet Cadillacopened the Mazda dealership in 2012. The Twin Cities company Auto Lupient Group previously sold Saturn and Mitsubishi vehicles there.

“So internally it will be a refurbishment and then the footprint will be expanded east and north,” explained Ryan Gregory of Rochester Motor Cars. “The show floor itself will expand east and the store will expand north.”

The end result will be a two-story showroom with room for more vehicles and more room in the dealership’s service center.

“What the project means to us is to increase our capacity, as well as significantly improve the overall look of the dealership to match the exciting growth we see coming for the Mazda brand,” Gregory said. . “It will be a big change, but we are confident that our current and future customers will love it.”

Dependent on Mother Nature and the city of Rochester, he hopes to see construction begin this spring.

This project will prepare the dealership for the future, which could include plans to eventually expand its land further east to US 52.

Rochester Motor Cars prepared for this future possibility by purchasing the building at 4825 W. Frontage Road NW that houses Minnesota’s only Carlos O’Kelly’s restaurant. There are no plans on the table yet for this building.
