Noblesville Fire Department is seeking donations for food and toy drive • Current Publishing

The Noblesville Fire Department is enlisting the help of the community to bring joy to less fortunate families during the holiday season.

It’s the 44th anniversary of the annual NFD food and toy drive program.

“This year we hope to help 100 local families,” said Noblesville Fire Department chief Trevor Hash. “We receive our families from the Good Samaritan Network. We estimate how many families we will be able to help, and they provide the names. Whatever we have left after the trip, we take it to the office of the trustee in Noblesville.

The NFD partners with Kroger for food needs and Meijer for toys.

“The partnerships with Kroger and Meijer have been essential in providing families with what they need,” Hash said. “We work in partnership with Kroger on all cold products, and they allow us to pick them up on the morning of deliveries. This arrangement allows us to offer a wider assortment of fresh foods. The partnership with Meijer allows us to get the most out of monetary donations. We use these donations to purchase age-appropriate gifts for the children on the list. “

Hash said the firefighters took great pride in collecting food and toys.

“The immense generosity of the people of Noblesville, combined with the dozens of volunteers from the firefighters, the mayor’s office and their families, has enabled us to help our friends and families in need over the past 43 years,” said declared Hash.

NFD accepts cans, non-perishable foods and new and unwrapped toys until December 3. Donations can be dropped off at any of the Noblesville fire stations or Noblesville Town Hall, 16 South 10th St. Deliveries to families will take place on December 11.

The fire department also accepts monetary donations. Checks are preferred, made payable to the NFD Hamilton County Community Foundation.
